Night of a Million Moons
words and music by Mary Karlzen
What seemed to be a million years ago
When the summers were as endless as the days and the sky was as lazy
My mother and I would sit on the concrete steps
And watch the wind blow through the grass
We saw the dogs run and watched my brothers pass
And I looked at my mother as she silently watched the wind
And without a single word we'd rise up and go in
Welcome to the night of a million moons
Welcome to the future which dawned all too soon
And I reached for the light as if I could stop the past somehow
From colliding into what is now
Welcome to the night of a million moons
